Rob Laney Speaks at Harmonie Group Construction and Transportation Seminars

(CHICAGO, IL -- JUNE 1, 2011). RRD partner Rob Laney spoke at two seminars presented by The Harmonie Group in Chicago on June 1, 2011. The seminars were presented to insurers, TPAs and risk managers involved in transportation and construction litigation.

Rob’s presentation covered new caselaw construing the Medicare Secondary Payer Act (MSPA) as well as the civil penalties that attach if Medicare’s interests are not properly protected in connection with the payment of settlements and/or judgments to certain plaintiffs. Rob's discussion also encompassed a number of recommended best practices to ensure compliance with the MSPA and to avoid the imposition of penalties under the Act.
