On March 10, 2022, a Stamford jury returned a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case defended by RRD Partner John F. Costa who represented a neurology practice group. The plaintiffs claimed that from 2008 through 2015, an employee of the practice group failed to diagnose the plaintiff with normal pressure hydrocephalus.
The defendants were able to convince the jury that the plaintiff’s diagnosis was complicated by multiple concurrent neurological issues that caused her symptoms to present as other conditions. In addition, the defendants presented evidence that any damages that resulted from a delayed diagnosis would be minimal. After a 7 day trial, the jury agreed and returned a defense verdict.
