Ryan Ryan Deluca LLP was proud to host the Quinnipiac University School of Law (QUSL) Mock Trial Society over the weekend in our Bridgeport Office for their online mock trial competition. This year AAJ’s mock trial fact pattern involved a car accident in which a car collided with a motorcycle, requiring the student advocates to litigate the liability portion of the trial before three judges. This competition consisted of three preliminary rounds between 16 teams in each region, followed by a semi-final round between the top four teams in each region, and culminating in a final bench between the top two teams in each region. The winning team from each final bench will continue with their advocacy at Nationals.
One of QUSL’s teams continued QUSL’s streak of success this semester by advancing to the semi-finals. Congratulations to law students Aimee Sportini (’21), Sarah Smeriglio (’22), Nicolle Lipkin (’22), and Kyle Souza (’22) for winning all three of their preliminary trials and advancing to the semifinals! Also competing for QUSL this weekend was Gabriella Pascarelli (’22), Sam Graff (’22), Michael O’Sullivan (’22), and Kristina McKinney (’22). Congratulations to Gabby Pascarelli and Sam Graff for earning the highest score of any QUSL team in an individual trial, despite this being their first competition.
Ryan Ryan Deluca LLP is honored to be able to have a part in teaching the next generation of advocates and is excited to continue its work with QUSL Mock Trial Society students in the future.
